Three-day rescue effort has so far failed to locate Ali Sadpara and two fellow mountaineers Muhammad Ali Sadpara, Pakistan's most successful mountaineer and a national hero in his country, was acutely aware of the risks of climbing the world's highest mountains in winter. A member of the first team to climb the 8,126-metre Nanga Parbat in winter in 2016, Sadpara was back three years later to help rescue the missing British mountaineer Tom Ballard who had died on Nanga Parbat.
